A relatable read as someone who loves routine and is a hopeless romantic.
At times I found Rory a little too rigid, but the ending gave reason for that rigidity and made it all make sense.
Adore this book!

I usually do not read rom-coms but I can see what the hype is all about. The book was interesting, funny and was a true stress-buster.

Rory had a list of five big things that she wants to achieve, laminated. When she realises that she is nowhere near achieving them, she uses the crossword to guide her through and make her decisions. From being a journalist who plans her whole week, to being a journalist who makes some last minute, jaw dropping decisions, Rory’s quest to finding love in everything makes up this book.

Well if that wasn’t just the loveliest little read!
Adorable characters ✔️ After Rory, the main character, Kitt was my fav. And of course Harry - I hope there’s a sequel so I can have more Harry!
Pop-culture references that I not only know but get! ✔️ (And if, like me, you start writing a list of all the films referenced so you can go back and rewatch them there’s no need as there is a handy list of all Rom-Com titles alluded to in the book at the end!)
Funny✔️ Actually laugh out loud witty funny (very glad I was alone most of the time I read this because I’d have garnered some strange looks if I was in public!)
Sweet✔️ I hadn’t realised how much I needed a read without dark, sinister undertones and an overload of pain and suffering. Yes, there’s a little grief and broken relationships and minor troubles in this book but they are handled with a light and deft touch.

Love and other puzzles is pretty much the perfect read for early 2022. I’m sad my first time reading it is over but so thankful to have had a signed copy sent to me by the author!

Just a delight. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A fun, very well written, story of a disastrous main character navigating life and making mistakes along the way. I just found that I didn’t really vibe with it, mostly I think that’s just a personal issue where it just wasn’t for me, but also at times the main character could be completely insufferable and the romance element of it felt a little under developed. Overall a light, fun read

I felt like there was supposed to be some main character development but there just...wasn't? Just felt like there was something missing from this one. Also the meet cutes and final love interest resolution both felt extremely convoluted

Fine read. Inoffensive and sometimes funny! The exact same “quirky” way of speaking was used for every single character which I found a bit off-putting because it was so unrealistic. But otherwise I have no concrete reasons as to why I wouldn’t rate it higher! Missing some depth! Anyway, an alright lazy read.
