Deceptions is the seventh book in the Whispering Willows series, and it is just as enthralling as the rest of the books in this series. This book mainly revolves around the recent ‘ghost sightings’ in the village, the ghosts of the beloved ones that a few them lost long time ago. Are they really back through some magic, or is it something sinister? This made for a really fascinating turn of the story and truly kept me glued to the pages. Then there’s Lily and her love life, her confusions and conflicted emotions, and while she tries to sort things out, she unwittingly becomes part of a secret that if came to light can create more problems for her.

As always, this story is filled with a whole lot of bitter sweet emotions, and even more feel-good, wholesomeness. The way the characters are written to be struggling with the ghosts of their past, literally and figuratively, is beautiful. How Lily tries to deal and accept the dark happenings of her past, and goes deep into the spirals of her emotions, and finds herself in a dilemma, was very compelling. Snow and Mitch also find themselves struggling with a loss, and trying in their own desperate ways to cope with it.

And again, as has been the style of this series, this book ends on a cliff hanger that is sure to make you hold your breath. Lily’s character has been in the limelight for most part of this book and the previous, her story has been very gripping and I have become truly invested in it. This cliff hanger really leaves Lily in the inevitable eye of the tornado, so to speak, that has the potential to break her heart and take everything away from her. Really looking forward for the next book in this series.
