This is the third book in the Tattered Curtain series and I was soooo excited for it. Thankfully, the book was everything I could have hoped for and more! This isn't much of a review for the book, but more of a review from Sev lmao, just a heads up.

I’m turned on. Neither men, nor women, have ever done it for me, but thinking about someone killing for me turns me on.

This book was definitely making me realize that I could easily fall for the tricks that this man was doing, and not for the right reasons haha. When I first read this line, my jaw dropped. I was in SHOCK haha, but then when I gave myself a moment to think it over, she wasn't wrong. The protectiveness that Sev had for Talia was amazing. I think because they also didn't know who they were to each other, that was for sure something that added to it and I found myself rooting for them from the very beginning.

I knew that when the truth came out, about who they were to each other, he was going to be hurt. I wasn't really excited about that because I knew I would cry - and I was right - but I was excited to see how the reaction was going to be.

“I want to carry my woman, Tallie. Don’t worry about my pain. I’m only concerned with making yours go away.”

“I’m claiming you, Talia. You’re mine now. Your burden is my burden—” He punctuates each point with long plunges. “Your dreams are my dreams. Your goals are my goals. Your family is my family. Your heart is mine. My heart is yours.”

There isn't much I can really say about this book because the entire time I was just really into Sev haha. He is my favorite MMC from the series thus far for sure and I really loved everything about him throughout the story. There were obviously some moments where I wasn't the happiest with him, but overall I really loved him.

I think what I appreciated was how he took care of or tried to take care of, Tallie. It was for sure going to flip when he realized who she was, and what she was up to, but I knew that once he really thought things over and listened to her, things were going to work out without too much of a problem. With the way that this man was following her around, I knew that he was going to fall back into her without hesitation. The love and obsession that he had for this woman was out of this world! I was secure in knowing this wasn't going to be dragged out and I was so sad when the book was coming to an end.

What a beautiful, cathartic read.

This book has everything you could ever want in a dark romance
- mafia ties
- tragic backstory
- revenge
- so much unaliving
- shibari

Great plot, loved the characters (who doesn’t love two villains and the FMC being the one who says “who did this to you?”)
I always like finding the parallels between the plot and the inspiration.

But this one wasn’t my favorite from the series, by no fault of its own, Rouge and Phantom were just too good!
