I gave up on book 3 mostly because I find it hard to finish trilogies anyway, and these are linked but not continuing with the same characters so there was no real drive for me to complete the story. The first two books were great though so I may come back to it in time.

I loved the first book, made it through the second, but the third lost me. I had the same issue with the Patternist series- I love Octavia Butler's writing, but for some reason the multi-generational series style just doesn't do it for me.

Maravilloso. Octavia E. Butler era sin duda una visionaria. Me ha fascinado la manera de la que trata toda clase de temas como género, identidad, las guerras, la contaminación, etc., y también su manera de retratar al ser humano. Es ciencia ficción pero profundiza mucho en las contradicciones del ser humano y en lo fascinante que llega a ser.

Disappointed to be giving such a low rating to a groundbreaking novelist. This book started with an interesting premise. Earth is ravaged by war and saved from extinction by an alien race in the first book of this trilogy. A ver... ni un pero le pongo a la pluma de Octavia. Esta señora es una artista y una visionaria. Sin embargo me he desconectado de esta lectura en varías ocasiones... hay mucha información que procesar y a veces te pierdes la emoción de la historia por estar pendiente de los conceptos.

De hecho la lectura me ha llevado mucho más tiempo del habitual en mi...

No obstante es una historia interesantísima, por momento realmente impactante. Recomiendo mucho su lectura a cualquier amante de la ciencia ficción.
