3.5 stars! This is a collection of short adventures written by the one and only Agatha Christie. I especially liked the first story following murders surrounded by the song “three little mice” and set in a mansion during a snow lockdown. The other stories followed the detective couple Tuppence and Tommy. I find it empowering that Tuppence is the most brilliant and the clever one in a world where men are the dominant ones in power.

Most of the stories are 2–3 stars but Three Blind Mice is 5 stars for sure.

Believe it or not, this is my first Agatha Christie book. Of course, I've heard loads of appreciation vand compliments from readers about her stories and also got the opportunity to see the movie "The Orient Express" before I was exposed to novel reading.

Three Blind Mice and other stories is a collection of short stories. It consists of 9 tales, 4 featuring  Miss Marple, 3 featuring Hercule Poirot, 1 featuring Harley Quin (the first I ever heard of him in a Christie novel!) and a standalone novella, which is the book's namesake, Three Blind Mice.

Three Blind Mice was originally written as a half an hour radio play, which was later adopted as a television film, a short story and a popular stage production, which later was renamed as "The Mousetrap". It is the longest running play in the world which began in 1952 and only stopped in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Some stories are more engaging and interesting than others. I liked the Hercule Poirot stories more than I did others. Miss Marple stories were not exciting enough and Harley Quin was quite an average detective.

My favourite would be Three Blind Mice, though there were some loose ends and unanswered questions left.

It's a nice collection of murder mysteries, somewhat predictable, still puzzling. Though it's not her best collection, it's still worth reading.

I'd like to add that as an Indian reading a British story targeted for British people gets quite difficult to understand at times. Not only I don't understand the British society of that period, I don't have extensive knowledge of British geography and the French language which is used quite a few times in Hercule Poirot stories.

I have now understood though that every time an Indian officer/judge is mentioned in these tales, it's a British person who had served in India during the British Raj.

Best was Three Blind Mice aka (The Mousetrap, the play adaptation that’s the longest running theatrical production in history)
The remainder were a nice variety of Marple and Poirot but I’ve read these in other collections I realized and the voice actress of Marple was hard to hear at times. Hugh Fraser and David Suchet are wonderful narrator

Three Blind Mice - One of the only Christie stories that I managed to guess correctly! The setting was the typical countryside with a large blizzard trapping all of the characters. I loved how unique and well defined each character was, and the shorter story meant that the plot stayed engaging.

This was the first Agatha Christie book I read when I was in school. I re-read it recently. I was puzzled by how I completely forgot the stories (and hence experienced the Aha! moments afresh again), but how I recalled some of the scenes very distinctly. Nice quick read.
