I wasn’t sure what to expect going into a romance book about online dating because it’s not my favorite thing in real life, but the book surprised me. The first part of the book is told from Mr. Boston’s POV and it’s a lot of calls and texting with Love. In the second half of the book, you get a dual POV with Easton and Drake. It gives workplace romance, forbidden love, second chance romance. I love to see a badass powerful female who owns her field in tech, but also goes weak for her man.

I had high hopes for this one unfortunately it didn’t meet them. It had a cute plotline, and the writing was good, but it was just missing something. the beginning was slow, but had me hooked (pun intended). Then it all just went so quick and then felt rushed and confusing. Then the last couple of chapters and the epilogue were boring and almost like an afterthought. I almost didn’t finish this one I found myself really struggling to finish this one. I’ll give the next one in the series a try, but hopefully it’s more cohesive and flows better.

⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️ The book started with a playlist &Dermot Kennedy’s Power Over Me was on it so that’s always an amazing start!

* I feel overall the story was predictable but still enjoyable. Easton Jone &Drake Madden were a good match. There wasn’t spectacular chemistry but they deserved each other. And oh man can Marni Mann write some spice! I enjoy every one of her spicy scenes, every single one!

* What I unfortunately didn’t enjoy was the male narration. He sounded like a frat guy. His female voice was horrendously high. It honestly kept pulling me out of the story because of how much it bugged me.

* The female narrator was fantastic! I know a lot of narrators but not a bunch that have pen names &this female narrator I LOVE but didn’t realize she also went by this. So that made up for the male narration.

* I’ll continue the series. Depending on the narration though, I might just physically read it.

Themes:
* Forced proximity
* Billionaire romance
* Workplace romance
* Second chance romance

So. Overall I enjoyed this book. However I find myself really hating a first act breakup and major time hop. It worked, but I was so annoyed by it. That being said, after the time hop things picked up quickly and was able to hook me right in. Easton refuses to have relationships after the woman he matched at 100% on his hook up app ghosted him. Now he and his friends are focused on running their company. However when they hire a new employee he is instantly attracted to her. I really want to more more about the other friends after reading this one. So I will be getting the rest of the series.

This BOOK. While creating an app designed specifically for hooking up, the MMC meets the FMC with a 100% compatibility match. After one steamy night, they lose track of each other for years.

Fast forward and Drake (FMC) starts working for Hooked, the app that Easton (MMC) helped to found. Dating your boss, it’s a bad idea right?

This book is HOT, like do not read on public transportation hot. It was definitely spice forward, lacking in a strong plot. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but if you like more plot than spice, it might not be for you!

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
