I absolutely loved ‘Notting Hill in the Snow’ and it became one of my favourites of this year so I was hoping to love this as well so I’m really sad to put this down but I really wasn’t vibing with this at all, not the plot, not the characters, not with anything.

Two stars feels slightly generous. Ah well, it was free for the kindle. It just didn't really deliver for me, the characters were nice but fairly unbelievable and a few of the situations were too much for a fluffy light read (domestic violence for example). If your writing fluff, keep it fluffy, if you want to write about serious problems, write about them fully, not as a way for the male lead to look better and like a knight in shining armour...

Another spectacular read from Jules Wake. Her characters always come alive for me, they’re always full of love, humour, wit, and goodness. There’s never any hiding with them, you know where you stand and that’s that. I love reading characters like that.
Her writing style captivated me from the first page with this book, and I reluctantly let it go at the last page. I could have read about Siena (with one n), Jason and co for a lot longer than this book. Jules Wake writes her men perfectly and Jason was no exception. He was handsome, funny, a real man.
The story was easy to get into, and once you learn why Siena left France in a hurry you really feel like you want her to stay away. Her mother doesn’t come across as a nice woman, and neither does Yves. When both put appearances in the book it feels like we should be shouting “Boo” like they’re villains.
Set in the build up to Christmas, you can’t go wrong. Everything always seems to be right in a Christmas book doesn’t it, and this one is no different.
