This has been a shoutout for those suffering in silence.
I always have a soft spot with stories that has a broken men and strong women characters. And I love how this book does not disappoint with the character development.
John and Stella (Button) is my ideal book couple. I love them both.

I enjoyed this story. John and Stella have a more serious story than the others. More emotional but really good.

Not sure I would jump for a reread or anything but I liked this for a few reasons. I did t read the first in this series so I don't know if his attempted suicide was in that one... But I appreciated that John could grow from the experience, still be recovering but be ok. I especially loved that he had to make sure he could do it on his own. Partners are great as support and change encouragers, but I like when someone learns to pick themself up and fall in love along the way. So due to that I upped my rating. I was not a fan of the professional friend' plot or how it played out. We didn't need that plus her dad plus her homelessness plus her flight stuff. Idk felt like too much. I am sure I missed it, but how did she afford to fly as a youth and into adulthood aside from only paying for part of a plane? The Stella thing at the end wasn't my favorite but ok, I'll take it.

!!!! tw: anxiety, depression, suicide attempt !!!!
i’d just start off by saying this about all of the songs mentioned: chef’s kiss. i even found a playlist on Spotify with all of them and had it on repeat while reading.
i loved john. and i loved stella.
this book is heavier. it hit a spot close home - john’s battle with depression and anxiety. there were times where i’d really find myself in his words and feelings, and i just wished i could’ve hugged him myself.
not going to lie, this book made me cry. there was this scene with killian… oh my god. did I cry..
