This was a super fun book. Quirky characters, fun vibes, and lots of laughs all around. I wasn't so sure I'd end up enjoying this from the first half of the book but I found myself really engaged by the middle of it. The ending was very satisfying and I'm excited to see what other shenanigans will go on in the next book.

For me, there were two main flaws. Firstly, I wasn't personally a fan of the villain. I can't put me finger on why, but he just felt somewhat bland (and quite annoying by the end of the book). I don't feel like I understood any of his motivations, and it bothered me that it wasn't explored more. Secondly, the supernatural elements of the book were only really explained in a big info dump of a chapter from a character who we know nothing about. It made it a little hard to be invested in what was happening here because it felt like it came out of nowhere.

Either way, I still greatly enjoyed this book and would recommend it - especially if you're a Terry Pratchett fan.

Conspiracy comedy can be a bit fraught these days but this one gracefully avoids the main pitfalls. Being set in England helps a lot there. Loved all the characters, excited to read more in the series.

Really enjoyed this one, gave me the same feelings as when I started the Rivers of London series, and that worked out very well! The audiobook was terrific, the narrator's character voices were quite perfect.

Tu chaotickou sebranku z redakce Podivné Doby si nejde nezamilovat.

Děj je vtipně napsán, nebere se moc vážně, ale zárovně vás chytne a vtáhne do světa, kde sice magie existuje, ale jen velmi málo lidí o ní ví.
