I was never a believer of love at first sight or first meeting, hence my view against instant love, but this book showed me that love can overstep any boundaries. I am sure this book should be under the adult level, not because it contains chapters of sex scenes, but because the love, the relationship, and their story was so mature in a way that you know these two people were “it” for each other.

This book was so hard to get through. I knew from the beginning what was inevitably going to happen and I didn’t feel motivated to read it. It took me weeks. I’m also going through a lot in my personal life, and this was not the book I needed to be reading. I had such a hard time concentrating. It was good, but definitely came to me at the wrong time.

I am a big fan of Kelly Rimmer’s Historical fiction, so I was excited to read something different from her.

However, I didn’t feel personally connected to Lilah or Callum and their story. It was also quite predictable. Predictability is something I’m used to in a romance, but I love the journey of getting there— the tension, angst, character backgrounds, development and growth. That’s where I feel like this story was really lacking for me, as I didn’t feel like I knew Lilah or Callum that well, and overall it just felt a bit flat to me. I wanted to feel things!! But I didn’t.

I originally rated this book 3 stars… but i realized today that I think about this book way too often. I find myself comparing other stories to this one and constantly seeing things that remind me of this book. I think I really wanna read it again
