I really enjoyed this book. The first person narrative was not stilted or narrow, but intriguing and detailed. I really liked how Mike Shevdon presented his take on fairies, or the Fey're as he calls them. The plot was exciting and fast paced, though not not so fast paced as to be confusing, and well controlled. I really liked the main character, Niall, as well as Blackbird. They make a great team. The others characters were intriguing, and I hope to find out more about them in the next book, which I will definitely be reading.

I got this book as a free download for Kindle. It's not especially well-written -- there were a handful of scenes that I swear I've written before, practically word-for-word -- but it's not poorly written and it's a good story. I'm glad I read it and I might willingly pay for the second book in the series because I rather like some of the characters and want to know what happens to them next.
