This book has all of my favorite things: a fat protagonist with very real and valid insecurities, a gorgeous love interest with issues of his own, fanfic and fan conventions. Not gonna lie, the fantasy about the gorgeous and kind celebrity falling for the unknown fat girl is one of my nearest and dearest, so this was a fun read. It’s definitely not without its fanfic-worthy angst too.

I would say that it would be a bit hard to follow if you’re not familiar with fanfic jargon and how the communities work, but if you are, it’s pretty comforting and true to life. Dade is definitely a fanfic reader, and most likely writer, herself.

I was swindled by this cover. I wanted so badly to like this book but it was so drawn out. I liked the characters at first, but this quickly got weird and cringy. Certain plot points irked me. There were cute moments but honestly I got bored halfway through.

it’s a very refreshing read.

I really love the audiobook for it.

I love the relationship they develop. This is a clear example of a healthy relationship. They are just so sweet and cute together.

Both the fl and ml are so sweet. Like so damn sweet and thoughtful. It makes me feel like a bad person :)

this was an enjoying read. it’s refreshing. but it doesn’t really wow me.
