"We all have our own version of the truth, and it is rarely whole."

"Life is a performance, and we don’t all like the scripts we’re given; sometimes it’s best to write your own."

I have very mixed feelings about this one.

Most thrillers/mystery have three main questions, who did it, how did they do it, and why they did it.

Finding out who killed them was kind of predictable. I mean it made sense it was them, but still.

Why they killed them? Now that was plot twist. I did not see that coming. This whole goddam family sucks. They are really the worst. They did a horrible thing and went on living for years, did not care who they hurt. So glad they are all dead. Not one person who died was worth saving.

I know this is very vague but I am trying to avoid spoilers.
Well all I wanna say is that I liked it, but the killer reveal was a let down.

It is SO frustrating that there is literally a spoiler within the blurb of the book, not sure what they were thinking. So I knew that twist before I even started the book, and I guessed the second twist about halfway through. But regardless I still enjoyed this clever story.

Another one that benefits from speeding up the audio, it suited the pacing of the book more. I did like the characters, though some were fleshed out more than others. Glad the acknowledgement of the Agatha Christie inspiration was there.

What made me want to throw the book against the wall was the Sixth Sense-ing of an ending. It felt like we were cheated out of another ending by a publisher who just wanted to see it printed already. And given the And Then There Were None source, it was apparent from the “2nd” death Nana was still alive, but it being that obvious was a bummer because it killed any suspense built around the possibility of a red herring. It was a “drop the shoe already” from exasperation instead of anticipation.

This book was certainly an experience to read. It's a thriller, and I have to say, it definitely thrilled me! It is so good! The atmosphere was amazing, the characters were amazing, and I really enjoyed this book! It kind of reminded me of We Were Liars/Family of Liars, except an adult thriller, and I mean that in a very good way! Each of the characters were so complex and so interesting to learn more and more about as the story and flashbacks unfolded. I think the ones who were most interesting for me to learn more and more about were Rose, Conor, and, of course, Daisy. They were such interesting people, and they felt so real. All of the characters felt real, but those three in particular felt very real. There isn't much I outright disliked, but I think I'm not going to give it the full four stars because some parts did drag a bit more than others for me, and while there was certainly mystery as to who was doing all of this, there wasn't a lot of consideration of the motives each member of the family might have had, which is something that I do tend to really enjoy in stories like this. However, overall, I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it!
