“Curves for Days” is a plus size romance novel that is so much more than a simple love story. Everyone has baggage; secrets, a past, things that haunt them and our main characters Rose and Angus are no different. But will the complexities of their secrets, past and insecurities be too much to keep them together?

I absolutely loved this book so much. I am thankful for the ARC from NetGalley and I even bought my own physical copy. I smiled so much throughout this book, laughed and cried. As a plus size woman it was amazing to read a romance novel where a character like me could be loved, just as she is.
The content warnings are on the authors website but she covers so many tough but much needed to be addressed topics elegantly and they are ones that many can relate to. Such an empowering and awareness bringing book, wrapped up in a curvy romance novel. Highly recommend!

Happy publication day!

I would like to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks - Casablanca for providing me with a free e-ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

After winding up with $80 million from the lottery, Rose Barnes escapes the constant hounding from her old life in Indianapolis and finds herself in the town of Galway, North Carolina to start over. She gets herself some new friends and ends up hiring the local grump, Angus, to renovate her new home. Yet, as she tries to keep her winnings a secret and her relationship with Angus develops, she wonders if love can conquer all.

Now, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that Curves for Days addresses some heavier topics. I encourage you all to check out my content warnings at the top of my review and decide whether this is a title to read or not.

Curves for Days is a delightful small town rom-com that you want to keep an eye on this summer. Moher is able to bring out all the Southern charm and hospitality that I love into book form. I really like the dual POV approach that Moher utilizes in Curves for Days and does a great job with creating authentic personalities for Rose and Angus. Though, I would have liked it better if the dual POV was separate into chapters instead of line breaks.

Rose and Angus are great MCs and I enjoyed rooting for them throughout the book. Both go through their own growth during the course of this book and I feel that Curves for Days does a great job with showing how their relationship strengthens due to their pasts.

I would definitely recommend Curves for Days to anyone looking for a fat-positive rom-com that has small town charm, such as Abby Jimenez’s Part of Your World, and grit, a la the Knockemout series by Lucy Score or if you’ve been searching for a secret millionaire rom-com.

I really thought I was going to like this a mid-life romance, curvy FMC, small town, some hurt comfort. Also, once I started it I thought the lottery angle could have worked out really well. But I really couldn't get into it. I felt pretty early on that the characters weren't going to work for me. The FMC seems intensely traumatised and I can’t relate to this FMC at all.

Seriously the levels of internalised fat-phobia are off the  charts. To the point it’s distracting from the story.

The MMC seems to be suffering from PTSD as well as some sort of complex where he feels the need to balance his presence in the world. It even impacts they way he looks as splitting a takeaway.

The pacing felt off to me, too slow, too many leading hints and comments from the characters that seemed to just go no where. I imagine someone who's more into it may really like it.

I loved this book! It was laugh out loud funny, the main couple was sweet (and sexy) and they felt like actual adults. Their development as friends and a couple was fantastic. There was definite grumpy/sunshine and what could read as forced proximity, so if you like those tropes, this one's for you. It was refreshing to read a male MC who understands and advocates for boundaries.
Even when it got to the miscommunication, I understood where both sides were coming from. It wasn't as frustrating as that trope usually is.

I hope the author is planning to do more in this series. There were definitely some hints dropped and I will snap up any book she writes!

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
