I’d give this a 3.5.

I loved so much about this book. I love Rose’ growth and big heart. She’s so kind, thoughtful and genuine. Angus is an adorable teddy bear.

But.

For a plus size girl Rose was so obsessed with his physical size. It felt so out of character and ridiculous, eventually I just started rolling my eyes.

Angus’ obsession about her money was just plain stupid. She didn’t need his saving and he was a big stupid baby throwing a freaking tantrum because his giant ego was hurt.

Another CRINGE romance book.  Oh what a big strong man.  Look at his big hands and tan chest.  Swoon.  It's so hard being near her.  Oh look I'm hard again.

This stuff is just so ew.

This was a sweet story, full of finding yourself, falling in love and making a difference. It was full of new friends, grumpy grumps, who are secretly softies. It’s about helping those in need and healing from trauma. Rose and Angus are so sweet together, they both fit all the missing pieces to each other’s tattered hearts. This was a sweet slow burn, small town romance. I adored the relationship between Rose and Angie and how it grew from friendship. They worked through their insecurities, and other problems, and it was sweet and heartwarming.

Nothing, and I mean nothing could convince me that a plus size woman and a 6 foot tall man can have sex in a single person tent THREE times and not alert anyone, let alone multiple children running around outside the aforementioned tent.
This book was a solid romance, little heavy on the “I needed a man to show me my worth” trope but the mc has personality at least which is nice.
