Meh
Insta lust to insta love. Too many plot twists, barely any plot used to string together okay sex scenes.

Lots of coded racism in how the characters talk about “gangs” verse “organized crime.”

This book was just alright to me. Some of the premise of the book seemed so far fetched. Like why would you agree to take your sisters college courses for her? Some random teacher that’s not the teacher… just out there for the plot.

CW: violence, blood, gun violence, abortion, death

I wasn't exactly sure what I was getting into with this one. I picked it up because the author will be at Readers on the River and the blurb caught my eye. There seem to be a few books about ballerinas and mafia out there. I was intrigued by the overlap. Much of the story is veiled in mystery because Catalina prefers not to know about her family's business. Loren presents himself as a mystery, yet that doesn't stop Lina from being intrigued. The chemistry is off the charts with these two. It was interesting to watch the two of them come to terms with their emotions about each other.
