I went into this one thinking it was going to be more on the funnier side than it ended up being. There were some hilarious moments, and I really loved seeing Zephyris handle being on Earth. It would've been even more fun to see when he first arrived because we see him talk about how hard it was to adjust and compare it to other worlds he had to visit before coming to Earth. It'd also be interesting if there was more suspense or drama. I thought by how we met Zeph that we would've had some crazy ex-drama appear, but honestly, none of it really came up. We eventually met Tabitha's ex, and I liked what happened there but just wanted a bit more. I just got stale fast with this one, but I liked the setup, what the book was trying to do, and Dexter! That dog was hilarious, and I loved everything he got these two into.
Moderate: Confinement, Sexual content, and Kidnapping
Minor: Body shaming, Fatphobia, Car accident, Death of parent, and Pregnancy

A cute, fun and lighthearted read. I really enjoyed it. I never know if I am going to like books with breeding tropes but this one was done well. The pregnancy doesn’t happen until very late in the book and is minor to the plot . If you are looking for a fun, quick romance book, look no further!
Tropes: guy next door, breeding, pregnancy, mating, golden retriever/black cat

I have to admit that it's not what I expected being a Tiffany Roberts book. It's very different from what I've read from the author but it makes sense as even the authors themselves have expressed their intentions with this book: a sort of therapeutic reading/writing full of heartwarming and breathtaking moments.
Taken by the Alien Next Door is recommended to anyone (mostly those who like tails) who wants a light, lighthearted and fun read with a hint of spice.
