Mr. Fox by Joseph Jacobs retelling.

This was my first T. Kingfisher, and it won't be my last! Simultaneously funny, and sinister. Reminded me a bit of Dark Henson and Uprooted.

Just a really fun story, and I recommend the audio.

The worlds T Kingfisher creates and the way her stories interact with those world will always have me coming back for more. Her stories are consistently different but at the same time I always get sense of feeling at home with her writing style.

My 3rd Kingfisher book and I absolutely loved it. I picked it up in the "horror" section but it felt more like a dark fairytale, which I'm totally okay with! I was surprised the main character was so young but it made sense with the plot and she ended up showing such growth, even in a short amount of time. The topics covered were very heavy but I find Kingfisher does a wonderful job of balancing depth, spooky, and heavy topics with levity, joy, and humor. While I loved the characters (Hedgehog forever ♥️) and the plot, it was lacking a bit of the "spook" that I felt in her other books. But overall I would recommend and truly enjoyed it!!!

I liked all the ideas in this, and the writing was well done, but I ended this feeling like there was too much missing from this for me to say I fully enjoyed it.
