Having grown up in the Greater Cleveland area, I remember when all 3 of these women went missing. While over and over again it has been reported that Michelle Knight’s family did nothing to search from her, I clearly remember seeing “Missing Person” fliers posted in various areas through the Tri-County area around Cleveland that showed a photo of Michelle that had been taken at school.

I’ve read both autobiographical accounts by Michelle and the joint “tell-all” by Gina & Amanda. All 3 of which are heart wrenching while being beacons of hope and resilience. This book, however, shed a brand new light on this case for me and showed me just how much the media & law enforcement actually kept from the public. It was astonishing to me just how many times these women could have been saved had all the people in Ariel’s life been a little more involved and neighbors been a little more aggressive in reporting all of the strange things they had seen & heard over the decade of horrific events.

If you love true crime. If you live or lived in NE Ohio
in the early 2000’s. Or if you just want to understand how these events keep happening this is a must read!

Very well written. There was just enough so the reader knew exactly what was going on - did not go into great depth. ❤️ You go through all emotions. It is also a book about the “haves” and the “have nots” ( underlying plot ) Out of my genre completely but was hooked and a new fan has been born.

Well worth it to get all of the details behind the case including the background of each primary person involved, but lots of redundancies. So much of this was graphic, so I didn’t necessarily want to hear certain pieces repeated multiple times.
