"Where there are books, there is always a temptation to open them."

Reminiscent of the movie "It's A Wonderful Life," except instead of only experiencing one alternative, the protagonist experiences many.  It does get a bit preachy, but so did "It's A Wonderful Life."

Ein Buch das das Leben bejaht, auf eine unkonventionelle Weise. Sehr zu empfehlen!

This is such a poignant book! The themes explored are explored in such a way that is just…beautiful. And the underlying message is so inspiring. Though this isn’t exactly my style of book, I didn’t have the moment of “oh, I love this book”, it was an amazing read, and I will definitely be recommending it!

This is the best book I've read in a while, maybe all year. I found it a very touching read as someone who has struggled with my will to live. I am a new teacher, and one of my mentors was recently telling me that one of the main ways that authors convey theme is through perspective shifts. This book made me think that logic can be applied to life as well - that the theme or message of our lives is dependent on our perspective, and if we want a positive or meaningful life, we must only view our lives positively and meaningfully. Well, I'm not arguing that that's ALL we have to do - systemic inequality and other situational factors will always be at play. But to make the most of what we've got, perspective is key. And, I think as this book demonstrates, changing your perspective is not easy; but after much confusion and trial and error, it is possible.

I read this at the end of my 2 month inter rail trip and I feel like it was a good time! The book talks a lot about the importance of living the life you have, everything around you is happening because of all the small things you do in life.

The main character is regretting allot of thing and is given a chance to visit all those life’s. It’s a nice idea but I felt like she was allot. I get that she is scared and sad, but it was something with her not trying to understand that made me annoyed.

I would love to read other books from Matt Haig in the future.

I would still recommend the book, it has a good and important massage!

Mixed reviews of this left me with weird expectations but I think I liked this! Some of the first trips Nora took were kind of weird to me and it did get a bit boring at time but I really enjoyed the ending.
I thought it was odd that people had to die in her other lives, like if she went to Australia her friend would die?? I mean I guess not everything had to have a deep meaning. The whole message seems to be appreciate what you have and I can see that being a tired topic but it worked for me!

the one by taylor swift if it was a book

i persist and resist the temptation to ask you if one thing had been different, would everything be different today?
