"Where there are books, there is always a temptation to open them."

Reminiscent of the movie "It's A Wonderful Life," except instead of only experiencing one alternative, the protagonist experiences many.  It does get a bit preachy, but so did "It's A Wonderful Life."

Ein Buch das das Leben bejaht, auf eine unkonventionelle Weise. Sehr zu empfehlen!

This is such a poignant book! The themes explored are explored in such a way that is just…beautiful. And the underlying message is so inspiring. Though this isn’t exactly my style of book, I didn’t have the moment of “oh, I love this book”, it was an amazing read, and I will definitely be recommending it!

What an incredible story and such a good message! This book gave me major Addie LaRue vibes but is a completely different plot. I loved this book so much!

Mixed reviews of this left me with weird expectations but I think I liked this! Some of the first trips Nora took were kind of weird to me and it did get a bit boring at time but I really enjoyed the ending.
I thought it was odd that people had to die in her other lives, like if she went to Australia her friend would die?? I mean I guess not everything had to have a deep meaning. The whole message seems to be appreciate what you have and I can see that being a tired topic but it worked for me!

This book was not for me, but I understand it’s appeal and I do think that it is well written. I thought that, overall, the story was predictable and the message was heavy-handed. It is a fun premise that feels like it’s been explored many times before…

I liked the concept of the Midnight Library itself. That was very intriguing.

As I write this, I don’t know if I had a definitive problem with the story or if I just didn’t care for the book. There was something about the way in which the depiction of suicide and its aftermath gave me pause. I don’t know if I can put that into words.

At the end of the day, it was not my favorite.

A lesson in finding hope within despair, and also embracing the many worlds theory in physics.
