A little esoteric for storytime, but probably very suitable for a classroom reading and discussion or a one-on-one reading to explain some of the more abstract concepts. Creative rhymes. I really appreciated that the disability rep was not the token wheelchair.

Beautiful children's book that most adults would benefit from reading!

Super important message presented through simple text and gorgeous illustrations.

This book teaches kids that extending empathy to other humans who may not look like us or speak our language as well as to our fellow non-human earthlings is the way to a better world.

The inspiration for this book was touching.

Thank you to North South Books, Inc., Miranda Paul, Baptiste Paul, and #NetGallery for an ARC of #Peace in return for an honest review. Review will be posted on NetGallery, Goodreads (goodreads.com/radicalrachelreads) and Facebook.

Rhyming text shows ways we can do simple things to bring about more peace. Reading the authors' note at the end adds more context and depth to the story.

I read an early digital copy of this book, and will buy one for my children once it is released. The text is simple, but the message of peace is powerful. It is complimented by colorful illustrations of children of many skin tones and some cute animals.

I received an ARC from NetGalley. The book will be released on March 2, 2021.

An overly preachy/repetitious book that has good intentions but poor execution. Peace is one of the few picture books that I would skip.

This gentle, reassuring picture book talks about the importance of peace, and the illustrations show children of different races and animal species interacting together. The author's note at the end emphasizes that even though we usually think of peace in terms of people living together in harmony, peace also creates safety for animals and the environment, while war causes destruction to everything.

Some people might find this book too preachy or simplistic for their tastes, but it can be a good conversation-started with kids, and the illustrations are interesting enough to hold their attention. I especially liked the pandas, and if I were reading this with a child, I would encourage them to identify different species throughout the book, or talk about what they think peace means.

I received a temporary digital copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read and review.

This book is filled with simple language describing what peace is. The gentle rhyme and calming pictures makes the reader slow down and really absorb the message. This will make a wonderful addition to my classroom library.

This book is so peaceful!
The illustrations are super cute and the message is really percise and well put as this book is designed for young children, it takes the metaphors from their daily life.
The message at the end about the Mozambique war is really important!

I loved this book and can't wait to have a physical copy of it.
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read such a peaceful read!
