Pacing was a little off, and story ran a little long. And everyone being teenaged is still jarring. But overall a good book. Perhaps a little too obvious. I read the original Cloak and Dagger at the beginning, and this version is not bad. I'm really not sure about Jessica Drew. But this version of Bombshell kind of works.

Behold! This is the end of the series! The Ultimate Comics Spider-Man with Miles Morales has ended - although, between us, you should know it started somewhere else again and I'll have to dive deep into the Marvel black hole to figure out where.

Charts would be useful, but also confusing. There is a continuity to this. But where? How? Who knows. It's called "The Marvel Universe" because you marvel at it and not one hundred researchers can really tell you how it fits together.

Anyway. Good ending.

After his mother's death, Miles Morales swore off being Spider-Man so that people he loves no longer end up as collateral victims in the fight against evil. Except that's probably not the right choice.

(It's mentioned that Captain America is still President of the United States in this one, and I'll be damned if I understand why.)

When he's with his dad at a Chinese restaurant where Gwen Stacy is being a waitress, a battle ensues between three superpowered people just outside: the duo Cloak and Dagger and the exploding and thus appropriately-named Bombshell.

After Miles is running away like a common person and Gwen gets pissed off at him for good reason, it turns out all the superpowered people mentioned above are there because of eeeevil experiments done on them by an eeeeevil dude in charge of an eeeevil corporation. So Spider-Man, Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) and the other three go off to face all the eeeevil dude and his clique of evil science. They win.

Not bad. Not overly good, but my star rating is based on what it's not as well as on what it is: it's not a crossover event where you have no idea what you're doing; it's not the endless dreary misery of the initial run of Spider-Gwen; it's not confusing as heck. It's decent storytelling. Points for that.

the roxxon finale was a little anti-climactic -- they spent the whole volume talking about how they were untouchable and then bam, standard superhero fight worked just fine -- but there was some good character work this volume. i was torn on everyone pushing miles back into being spiderman because responsibility/ethics sure but also, he's a child, there's a reason child soldiers are illegal

i'm looking forward to reading whatever team story they're planning to put miles in though, i continue to love this kid. 4 stars

Miles Morales Spider-Man continues to be consistently good comics, with great, kinetic artwork and teenage melodrama and angst doled out in juust the right amounts. Add to that the racial and gender diversity on display, it's pretty much what any nice tumblr person would want from their modern day comics. Only niggle I might have is that this could have been a perfect "pick up at random" book were it not for the repeated references to PETER PARKER and THU LEGACY. Haha get oudda here, Gen-Xers!

I absolutely love Miles and the supporting characters of this series. The plot was amazing and kept me turning pages constantly. Can't wait to read more of him and see him continue to develop not only as Spider-Man, but as a character.

I had felt that this had stuttered a bit as it was going on, but this is a pretty nice return to form for this series. It's a little angsty, and Miles is really coming into his own as a character finally, which is great. I still feel like it needs a little more, but for now? This is working out to be quite good. Looking forward to the next volume.
