The Pucking Wrong Number by C.R. Jane

I’m all for a dark romance, but Lincoln is unhinged in a way that just made me uncomfortable. Had to DNF when the MMC, a gazillionaire hockey player with no reason to be so psychopathic, drugged and restrained the MFC to keep her from leaving him for entirely valid reasons. And the story isn’t well written. This felt like a something a teenager would write on Wattpad.

this was so hilarious. i really couldn’t stop laughing. sometimes you just gotta read a really bad book to appreciate the good ones.
Spoileri honestly was shocked that she knew he was a psychopath and still chose to be with him.

"What we have is everything."

I'm having a hard time rating this book. I think it would probably be more of a 3.5 for a variety of reasons.

The first: (and like many people have mentioned) The text bubble placement and the switch between bubbles and italics. The text bubbles are on the wrong side for incoming/ outgoing texts... How does something like that get missed unless you've never texted anyone in your entire life??
The second: What was the point of the drama with Lincoln's dad? Nothing really ever came of it other than getting owned at the end with the business stuff. Just very anticlimactic & not explored enough in my opinion.
The third: How many times do we need to be reminded that Lincoln is an aLpHa ? A lot apparently.
The fourth: Some of the scene progressions were super quick and a bit confusing at times. I don't say this often, but this is one of those books that would have benefitted from adding another 50 or so pages.

I went into this book KNOWING it was going to be a dark OTT stalker romance & it is such a shame that it isn't mentioned in the beginning of the book because anyone with triggers would definitely not know & this would be quite the surprise. If you have triggers, I suggest looking into them before proceeding.

All that being said, I did have a good time reading the book and I was straight up shocked
Spoilerwhen he chained her up to his bed so she wouldn't leave him.
:O
I definitely want to read the next book.

He’s fucking crazy. I love him tho. This book was great! I love hockey and dark romance so putting the two together, of course I’m going to read it. One thing I learned tho was that having “normal” couples ask insane or be a part of a dark romance (normal meaning not mafia or just like a the couples in a typical dark romance) is not really my cup of tea. I think I lost it when he drugged her, that was off putting but I get it and I enjoyed every other aspect of the darkness! Great read!
