Oh how I love consent and good communication. I also loved their relationship. It started out a bit dark, but it eventually turned sweet, while the things that happened turned dark.

The next branch in the Barista Matchmaking series. We get a MMF sub/Dom combo of soulmates this time and I love the introduction of phoenix. The antagonist is still sending cronies even while recuperating but everyone comes together to defeat them again.

TWs/kinks: incest, sexual content, kidnapping, fire, death, murder, pyrophilia, long tongue play, spitting swallowing, BDSM, degradation kink, praise kink, shifted monster sex, size difference, group sex

Extra big warning for the *incest*. The two men in the group are twin brothers. Nothing more than a kiss takes place on the page, but more graphic intimacy is discussed.

I had to remind myself constantly through this book that ancient supernatural beings aren't beholden to human decorum, but damn this book wasn't it for me. The book was technically well written for the type of book that it is, but this book is NOT everyone's cup of tea. The author definitely should have put more information about the content of this book upfront given the extra taboo nature of most of the book.
