I really wanted to DNF this book, but I also want to read this whole series....I compromised with myself so I skim-read the book.
Although the premise i interesting, the execution was underwhelming. There is no character development, the whole relationship is tell and no show, there are gaping plot-holes, poorly written corny (and sometimes repetitive) dialogs.
Definitely not my cup of tea.

Review:
I've never had to drag myself through a book so relentlessly than I had to in this. I so badly wanted to DNF, over and over again, but I also want to read this whole series so I stuck it out. After about halfway through, the cringe in each chapter was so much and so intense that I had to basically stop after each chapter and just collect myself. And that's so disappointing, because the premise was fascinating. But this story read like really bad fanfiction, the types where it's all tell and no show, where characters just have no development, the lines are so over the top and corny, and the plot line is so very obvious. I don't have problems with fanfiction, but this was just poorly written. There were a couple of plot points I was kind of confused about, like why Azazel's husband wasn't around with him, and how Saint's payment to Onyx for the favours he initially asked for may very well have been paid but it was never addressed. I also found it rather odd how many times we had a sex scene and only one person would be shown to have orgasmed - and not like in a way where it might be addressing the fact that not everyone orgasms every time they have sex or even try to get off, but like we just ignore that they might have reached a climax, and I found it kind of odd. Anyway, if you like this story, more power to you, but I just could barely bring myself to finish it and I'm glad that I can move on with my life now.
