Often funny and urbane, this is the birth of the political biography. Franklin is light and entertaining.

First time reading an autobiography, not my style but it was interesting. Friend recommended to me. He tell about a lot of events leading up to the revolution. It was cool seeing his steps to improve himself and the way he thought. I might start reading more autobiographies

It's just not my thing, there is a lot I can see others enjoying, but the sections on military history and supply logistics did not keep me engaged. I liked, however, seeing the self perceptions of such a well known historical figure, and there is something very pleasant about the way Franklin 'journals' and attempts to keep in check according to his own values in his time, no matter how dated some of his ideas might be.
