This is a quick must-read for any fan of How I Met Your Mother. Matt Kuhn does a wonderful job of bringing the humor of the show into each quick article of the Bro Code. I found myself hearing Barney Stinson's voice in every word, and could not help but recall many of the episodes where parts of the Bro Code appeared and laugh even harder. Not a book for the easily offended and there are many jokes made at women’s expense. The outrageous stereotypes outlined throughout the code are what make it funny. I am sure those not familiar with the show will find enjoyment as well, but it certainly helps the humor to have that background knowledge.

I read this book just because I love How I Met Your Mother and, especially, I love Barney Stinson. I think he is a hilarious character. Sexist and a tad misogynist, yes, but he is so funny that we can forgive him. So this book is a compendium of rules for "bros", and those rules don't treat women very well. But they are funny, and some of them can also be applied to us women who have male friends who are just friends. Not a story per se, because it's just a set of rules, but you can have a good laugh.

Got this for Christmas. It's everything you'd expect and more. While he quotes this a lot in the show, he has not gotten to all of them (at least not in what I've gotten to so far). Each rule captures the essence of the character, and overall it will make you love Barney Stinson even more and leave you feeling an urge to watch the show.

After watching all of the How I Met Your Mother episodes, I really wanted to read The Bro Code (I'm going to read the other versions later). When I found the audiobook I decided to listen to that one, but read the book while listening to the amazing Neil Patrick Harris reading the book. It's just a fun guide on how to be a bro, with often stereotypical and funny ways to act around women en dudes. Because I listened to the audiobook some parts where different from the regular book, like all the extra's in the pdf and some sentences where made more suitable for listening. The extra's are pretty fun, so if you listen to this book, make sure you look at those too!
