I wish Nicola Davidson wrote longer books. These novellas are so wonderful, but they don't make much sense. How can a virgin man - who's been sexually repressed!!! - be a pull out king AND natural dom???? Like this character needed a lot more smoothing and investigating than was given.

This was a delightfully sex-positive love story between a pleasure-house madame and a sheltered duke. I really appreciated Davidson's exploration of sexual shame in Bennett's storyline, and the ways in which Delilah helps him to gain confidence through self-acceptance. Bennett's sister and brother-in-law make fantastic side characters, and their appearances in the final scenes were laugh-out-loud funny. I thoroughly enjoyed this Christmas-time novella!

I went in expecting the usual delightful banter, sex-positive vibes, and holiday enjoyment that was advertised - and I got so much more! Really though!
It is not overly holiday-themed but it is so about sexual enjoyment and sex positivity and the trauma that can come from being raised within purity culture. Ben is a good person - legit. A kind, wonderful, good man who wants to do what is right and honestly has gotten the shit end of the stick repeatedly. He also happens to be a virgin. Delilah is wildly impressive and independent and brilliant and also so wants to help Ben learn to be comfortable with his sexuality. It is a gorgeous connection and their deep emotions totally sold me on the relationship. Not to mention that they converse, have some shared competence kink and it is appropriately sexy!
