I really can't say a lot about this book because it all feels way too personal/vulnerable to put on the internet (at least at this moment in time) but I will say this book truly helped me understand a lot about myself and my experiences and my relationships and the way people who've experienced trauma (which is most of us!) relate to the world.

Happy to have finally read this, as I feel it's referenced all the time. Great information, very digestible, necessary to know information. I feel like a lot of the topics are spoken about all the time with friends, on social media, etc but this book lays them out in concrete terms. It also really shines a light on the extent of trauma in our world, unseen and otherwise. I feel like this was constantly being recommended to me, and now I'm recommending it constantly to others.

Every teacher, parent, sibling, partner, and curious soul should read this. Factual enough to chew on and accessible enough to enjoy the flavor! I’m blown away by how much I learned. Few books help me know myself better - this one opened up some inner doors.

This book changed the way I think about trauma and trauma-based mental health issues. I read this at the recommendation of my therapist. I simultaneously listened to the audiobook and annotated a paperback copy, read-along style. A bit triggering at times, TBKTS is an insightful combination of anecdotes/case studies, and scientific evidence backed by empirical research.
