Interesting premise, horrendous execution... This book grabbed my attention at the beginning, and then everything just went into a downward spiral. Sam and Leo acted juvenile and asinine. Most of their actions/choices made no sense to me. I should blame myself for not checking the rating in advance though.

SpoilerThe attempted rape? What the fuck is that? And it also has the one-dimensional evil wife trope, one of the things I hate the most in mm romance. Sam desperately pining for a married guy was kind of cute though, and that's the only reason I'm not rating this one star.

Well this was disappointing. The first half was pretty much okay and I liked it. I liked the angle of betrayal and them having to work for it. It had a lot of promise and I started to really like Sam.

However, Leo was - probably/maybe - unintentionally portrayed as an abusive, domineering ass and at the end nothing was really resolved to any degree of satisfaction. It's a HFN, also probably unintentionally.

It might just be me, but Sam's grounds for caution were justified. In the end Leo was still married and he still lied and he treats Sam more like property.

The almost rape was better left out. The loss of control from Leo's side was portrayed way badly.

Too bad, because this had a lot of potential if it was not for the bad characterization and the unresolved plotlines.
