I received this book through GoodReads First Reads

Wow, I cried right at the end. This story was so touching... and it was so real. I wish I had read "Poppy Day" before this book however I don't think it's much of a deal. This book is about a woman who develops cancer and it shows the ups and downs of the family after diagnosis. This story is based over 10 months. It has changed some of my views on life and it was a truly great read.

Don't read/listen to this if you're already an emotional wreck. A tough topic, sensitively written.

I’m sure if I had read the rest of the series I would be completely consumed with grief at this ending. I had a 12 hour train ride to plow through this book, which also meant that I was trying to hide the fact that I was crying on this train for the last few chapters. My heart is broken but oh my god was this a beautiful story ❤️ I love you, Poppy Day

Beautiful story that made me laugh and cry. (But I did not know there was a book before this one called Poppy Day. It would have helped me understand some things a little better.)

In the beginning I thought it would be a typical story about cancer: she’ll heal or she’ll die in the end and this story will be only about her feeling sick and people around her will feel bad and so on. But eventually it was way more than that.

Some unexpected things happen, which kept my attention triggered at all times. The love between Polly and Martin is so beautiful and perfectly portrayed. Also the character of Peg was so well written... It was great to have their background story, so I could love Polly and Martin even more.

Read it.

Okay, so I tend to stay away from this type of book cause I hate crying, but this book was written so beautifully. These topics in books can easily be quite over the top, but this book is so well written and it's easy to see how much thought and love went into creating this.

This book is 10/10 and I can guarantee after reading this you will sit and think about how lucky you are to be in this life no matter how ordinary!!

I wanted to like this but it felt too cliched and I had trouble connecting with the characters. I was rooting for Poppy Day but I sadly couldn't love this book.
