Ok, McCauley has officially become one of my immediately buy authors because she has such a way with words and she uses them to HURT HER READERS. Kirkus was not wrong when they said she was a "writer to watch."

Vague, spoiler-free reactions to every story, to keep me honest:

Torsion: Mommy issues x dissociation, I want to rip my soul out of my body because OUCH 5/5
When Trying to Return Home: crying 4/5
The Missing One: FUCK that one lady, loved the ending 4/5
Good Guys: only a woman could write a man so well goddamn 500/5
Fevers: I'm depressed 5/5
I Don't Know Where I'm Bound: MAVIS PLEASE I HATE YOU I LOVE YOU RUN ME OVER YOU'RE SO COOL 500000/5
Last Saints: holy fuckkk, , I can't believe a story about a man nicknamed Potato was so intense (I'm getting Their Eyes Were Watching God vibes, southern setting wise?)  5/5
La Espera: 4/5 FUCK Carlos, fuck the patriarchy, fuck colorism
Liberation Day: 500000/5 I am at a loss of words on how to describe how beautiful this was.

tw: racism, colorism, violence, racial slurs (the missing one + once in last saints), sexual harassment (good guys), past SA mention (liberation day)
