One of those books I reread almost every winter/ spring. This year my second graders picked it as our read aloud for our indoor recess because it was so cold outside, a fun new memory to add to reading this book.

I think that this is one of those books that truely can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Children can enjoy since it tells the great journey of a very special dog and adults can enjoy since it's a real classic that tells about the cruelty of man but also about the bond between man and dog as well as the inherent call towards a more feral place that animals will sometimes feel due to their instincts.
Either way it's a novella that i can always see myself picking up at least once a year.

Do I regret reading this book? No, of course not! I did enjoy it (sometimes) and I'm glad I read this, but I wouldn't say this is a masterpiece.

I wasn't enjoying the book. It was too much for me with animal cruelty in the first few pages.

What a great book!! Wonderful!! Loved it!
I already knew the story, read it when I was a kid. It was lovely to revisit it and accompany Buck throughout his life, how he adapts and evolves to thrive. Marvellous descriptions, it feels as if we are inside the book!
And the narration is brilliant, the tone , the rhythm ! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
