A couple of the major sex scenes are what I tend to think of as "guy porn"—harsher and grittier than most gay romantic erotica, with lots of hole pounding and load shooting and a sprinkling of cheesy porn-movie dialogue. It's not really my thing but it's easy enough to skim, and the rest of the story, including the action plot and the emotional arc of the main characters, makes it worth it.

This should be just my thing, but I had a lot of questions about back story and characterization and romantic arc. Since this is a series and I like this author, I'll try the next one.

An ok-ish read... Has it's moments, but overall like most other gaylit novels; boy meets boy, boys does boy, boys live happily ever after!!!! Is it too much to ask for a little complexity, and character depth!
