An interesting look at shells and the creatures who make them. I found myself googling images of the animals she describes, curious what a Magician's Cone Snail or argonaut looks like, though there are glossy pictures in the book of some of the animals I wanted to see all of them. Parts of the book drag slightly when it gets more scientific but for the most part the book is entertaining. She clearly is passionate and knowledgeable about the subject, and that translates well.

absolutely loved this, if reawakened my love for the sea and helped develop my newfound passion for molluscs!! read this over a year ago and am planning on getting a nautilus tattoo largely because of the love and passion this book helped create. very lighthearted and inspiring, reminded me of how beautiful and strange little creatures can be. absolutely adore this book and will likely reread it in the future.
