AUTHOR CLAIRE MARTI
I received this book free on Amazon and than bought the audio (because that's just who I am). I have never read anything from this author and I'm so glad I read this. It was enjoyable, she had comedic timing and you felt attached to the characters very early on and I can't wait to read the others stories.

NARRATOR VANESSA EDWIN
I was pleased with this narrator. In the beginning I think I heard some background noises that took away from the story, but it didn't last long at all. I would for sure listen to this narrator again!! She was animated and fun for Charlie. she reads the male parts so well, also.

NARRATOR TIM PAIGE
Tim did a good job to me. I enjoy listening to his narrations of stories and he hooks me into them so I feel invested in the character. I will never shy away from anything he does.

SOME SPICY CHAPTERS
Chapter 15 Chemistry
Chapter 16 For Him
Chapter 19 Happy Hour
Chapter 20 Trust

THINGS I DIDN'T LOVE
This didn't so much annoy me as just a personal preference that I like, but I like touch her and die vibes. This had a bit of jealodst made me realize how toxic I am about book boyfriends.

Ryan & Charli are nemesis that Ryan is forced to hire in his hotel business.
Gotta love tension and hatred between the two before their emotions change within the pages.
This was also a super fun beach read set in Cali.

This is a fun read. Ryan and Charlie are well-developed characters who captured my interest from the start. Their chemistry from the start sizzled and it got better as the story went on. Both are flawed in that they are affected by their individual pasts and the things that happened to them as kids – both in good ways and bad. This story made me laugh at times and had me pulling for these characters. I loved the secondary characters and the fact that the other “hotel kings” were so prominent in the story.

I would have liked to have seen on page Charlie interacting with her father after she found out what he’d done and where they went from there. To me that aspect of the story was left hanging and I’d have like to have seen the conclusion or resolution on page.

This is a good start to the series and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was a quick and classic enemies to lovers office romance and it was very short and sweet for a quick read! There was definitely some good banter, there was the whole "I hate you but you're super attractive" part which I love and the side characters (which I'm assuming are the next MCs in this series) were great too!

I'm excited to read about the rest of the guys, especially Austin's story!

This was my first book from Claire, but after learning in the back that this book takes place in the same world as another series of hers, I'm definitely going to have to get through that backlist! Anyway- Hotel King is a hotelier and Marketing/Sales enemies-to-lovers story and it is full of SO much tension and heat and sweet moments, you'll want to dive right in.

I was lucky enough to participate in a What The Trope live stream about opposites attract with Claire, and it came out there how obsessed I am with enemies to lovers, so she pitched this one to me, and I'm SO glad she did. I appreciated that this one wasn't your traditional billionaire sort of set up- Ryan and his friends had secured investments to set-up their luxury hotels, so while there was that air of sophistication and money, the "Everything must go my way because of how much money I have" was left behind. I also LOVED Charlie; she had her reasons for having trust and commitment issues, but I loved her strength and how she was a self-made woman. I thought their dynamic together was just awesome and a lot of fun, and made for combustion when things progressed to the bedroom. I also loved the mature reasonable conversation this one (eventually) featured- I'm here for communication in romances!

Also, not to bury the lede, but my favorite part of this one! Charlie rescues kittens and big strong-CEO Ryan absolutely melts for them. I loved these interactions (and how the kittens played an indirect role in steamy times) and I also loved seeing cats get their due in books- I feel like it always goes to the dogs and I was HERE. FOR. IT.

I received a free copy of this book so I could leave this review.

This was my first read by Claire Marti and I have to say, it did NOT disappoint. This was a great first choice by her as enemies to lovers and HEA. This was so enjoyable and captivating and kept me holding on the entire time.

Hotel King was Ryan and Charlie's story on their relationship. Charlie's story of her childhood that was mentioned really helped her story in a way. It gave us the reason why she put pressure on herself to really prove herself. The way both of these MCs interacted made the story enjoyable. I really enjoyed this story and cannot wait to read the rest of the series!

I was expecting a lot from this going in. But it didn't meet that expectation though it was a pretty good read. I really liked the idea and premise of the book. Ryan and Charlotte are two competitive and ambitious characters. So when Charlotte got the promotion they both wanted Ryan's kind of jealous of her. Now he has to hire Charlotte and work alongside her to ensure his hotel business runs perfectly.

To be honest, Ryan is a complete jerk towards Charlotte when she first started working. I seriously don't see the rationale behind how he acted, but only because he was jealous of her. But Charlotte is one strong woman and doesn't take shit from him. She definitely knows how to handle him. I only wished that it was a first-person POV.
