This is not a 5 star book, but I rated it 5 stars because I enjoyed it so much and had so many feelings about it. I'm obsessed with this hot piece of trash, and I am being completely honest. Most of all, the female MC is strong and smart, and the spice is completely over done and happens way too often. So naturally, I cannot get enough.

For a supposed powerful, magical main character, she is sure overpowered easily. I kept waiting for a cool scene where she uses her power and it just never happened...
Also very... rapey.

DNF
It might seem weird to leave a review when I didn't finish reading it (or read most of it), but it was highly recommended and the amount of disappointment that I felt is insane.
Before the story starts the author gives a "disclaimer" basically spoiling a lot of the book, just to warn the reader about what they are about to read (???). I understand that not everyone can read some types of book, but honestly It put me off completely, she could have given a trigger warning and not basically spoiling even future books! The worst part is that even that wasn't the real problem with the book. Not the content, but the snobbish warning (sort of like If you don't like this that's your problem, and justifying her choices, even before I could start reading!). I honestly only continued because it was highly recommended.
Once I started the story, again it gets too descriptive, little actually happening. The interactions are also very cringey and without sense, the narration is messy. The protagonist quickly describe herself as "not like the other girls" (witches in her case). It couldn't keep reading and I have read a lot of books that I did not like to properly review them. That's how much I disliked this.

Right at the beginning of this book is a warning- it is intense and not for the light hearted. Enemies to bedroom partners- very graphic. I don't know if I like Knox. He is primal, self involved, and often derogatory. Toxic relationship. The book is really intense, lots of trigger warnings. There is a really cool storyline that is fast paced, at some parts it was hard to look past the abuse in the book (trigger warnings).
