I’m speechless. This was so heartbreakingly beautiful and touching. It tore my heart out but then put it back together.

An incredible book that held this intense story with care. Following the many echoed lives of a woman who had experienced significant trauma, this book artfully weaves through time to give if not a happy ending, at least validation and hope.

I really loved this book! Some parts were a little confusing but it ultimately came together. It is amazing how the lives of the mothers and daughters were waved throughout.

A thoughtful exploration of inherited trauma that spans seven generations, this novel easily drew me in. Some POVs were more captivating than others, but I think that's to be expected when you have so many. Jamie Ford seamlessly brought together fact and fiction to create this fascinating, heartbreaking, and complex novel. The ending is somewhat ambiguous, but I always err on the side of hope.

4.5 stars, this is an amazing, ambitious, and emotional book, but there were a few plot holes that drove me up the wall while reading it
