i read this sometime in 2021. i bought it at big bad wolf along with frankenstein im sure.
i cant find this book right now.
looking at reviews and summaries of each story, all ring a bell somehow but i have a terrible memory.
i did read this book. and it was good.

i just dont remember where i put it to look back and make a more detailed analysis.

I liked these stories a lot more in comparison to 'Lust'. I especially loved 'The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar' and 'The Umbrella Man', those I would both rate 5 stars!

I was so excited to discover Roald Dahl had a collection of stories for adults but that did mean I had really high expectations.

Dahl is still the king of storytelling in my eyes with some clever twists but I just wasn’t wowed.

Really fun to read while traveling! Some stories were classic thrillers and others were just silly and fun. Perfectly packaged little stories.

Really lovely collection of short stories. Some left me in agony, some left me laughing and one was just simply beautiful. Personal favorites are "Parson's Pleasure" and "The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar".

I slowly made my way through each short story sporadically; I read lamb to the slaughter back in year 8, and still remember my sister reading me the umbrella man when I was younger sitting on the counter in my Oma’s kitchen. But I never read all the stories & I finally decided to work my way through them when I saw the book standing up in my sisters bookshelf. My favourite stories were- lamb to the slaughter (I’ve remembered this story since year 8 and won’t forget it) man from the south & the wonderful story of Henry sugar. All fantastically clever, succinct (in the right way) and emanated some form of nostalgia from my childhood!
