I wasn't a huge fan of this volume. It was depressing and it seemed like it too everything it had built and then was outrageous just to be outrageous. There was a birthing scene and a lot more explicit content and drugs than before. All of this is fine, I understand that it is an adult series and there is bound to be some raunchiness but this was a bit overboard for me.

Hazel is still telling her parents story and she seems depressed about it in this volume. Her parents are working their way apart and it is wearing on the family. A majority of this volume was about their story - which I actually liked. The other story lines are good but don't hold my interest as much. I will keep reading but hope that the story's content calms back down a bit in the adult content.

Gross and edgy. In your face conflicts of race and sexuality. Futuristic alt world sci-fi that definitely satisfies. Strong, sexy female characters who can kick ass and still be mothers.

As usual, scenes that made me shout out loud - enough so that I startled my gf. Alongside scenes that had me laughing till I cried. George R. R. Martin has nothing on Vaughn. Best. Series. Ever.

There's a bold freshness about this that is just fantastic. Such an excellent series!

This was my second volume read in one weekend. I feel like I am kind of getting lost in the various story lines, characters and allegiances/wars that seem to be rather constantly introduced (and then reintroduced when you find out they were nothing like what they appeared initially). I can't imagine what it would be like if I wasn't able to read the books so close together and had to wait for the next one to come out. I am still finding the books weirdly entertaining. It seems like no one ever dies when you think they do so I think when someone actually bites it I'll be surprised! I am not sure what role these reporters are going to play. I laughed out loud when I first saw King Robot...HAHA! Still laughing about it on the inside now! What a lovely and unexpected perk to graphic novels...the comedic timing factor. It was something I didn't know was missing.
