Allie Brosh is brilliant. She’s completely screwed up and messy like the rest of us, but she has that rare and beautiful combination of characteristics that make her unutterably wonderful: 1) profound self-awareness, 2) a killer sense of humor, and 3) brutal fucking honesty.

The only thing that makes Allie Brosh any different (and much better, in my opinion) than us other human creatures is her capacity to openly admit that she’s lost and imperfect.

(And also her extremely impressive Paint skills. Just saying. Anyone who experienced anything significant in the 1990’s knows that that shit is HARD. Making anything other than those plaid-esque rectangles of color squares or random splotches and spirals of spray paint is a superhuman feat.)

Needless to say, it takes one hell of a strong person to take pieces of human nature that are so heavy and raw (depression, anxiety, shame, crisis, insecurity), and make them acceptable and conversation-worthy.

She not only accomplishes that in this little illustrated masterpiece, but manages to share the dark and dirty details in a wonderfully humorous way, which inevitably makes anyone reading her work feel much less alone and much more comfortable with (or maybe just less paranoid about) their own unique dysfunctions.

Thank you, Allie Brosh. And to the rest of you— buy this book.

Consistently funny and dead-on, Allie Brosh has a distinct voice and a knack for describing the nuances of everything from depression to motivation (or lack thereof). Have you ever been shocked by how long it took you to return a DVD, even when it's sitting RIGHT THERE in your living room? Do you ever wonder about your dog's decision-making process (or lack thereof)? This is the illustrated-blog-turned-book for you.

I liked this book, I really did. I never heard of Allie Brosh before i bought this book. Some parts were laugh out loud funny while others were not. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good, quick read. I read it in a day. For you kindle owners out there I do recommend purchasing the actual book ( I made this mistake), there are so many drawings that it was difficult for me to read some of them because they were on the kindle.

4.5 stars, I do like Solutions and Other Problems better- but I felt that this one had lots of deep yet funny stories.

Allie's illustrations are hilarious and heartbreaking all at once. She has a gift to write and draw about hard topics like anxiety, depression, adulthood, inner thoughts, childhood trauma with humor. At times I was left feeling sad and other times I was laughing out loud.
