This book is so well written. I was amazed at how the dialogue and thoughts evoked so many memories and feelings related to privilege and positionally that I’ve never quite put into words, even in my own head. Not much “happened,” but I was riveted by the story. Funny and disturbing at the same time.

This book was quick read that focused on topics of race relationships with a bit of a crazy tossed in there. I think it would make an interesting book club pick because there would be a lot of things you could discuss with people with varied backgrounds. I don’t know that it has much I will remember about it.

This came in the mail a few hours ago. I have done nothing but read this book. How do you put it down? So engrossing. Everything in it is so well-observed. The commentary on race and class ring much more true in this book than in Little Fires Everywhere. And the writing is immaculate. Reid notices every single detail. Parts of this book broke my heart. I will be thinking about it for a long long time.

This book took me far outside of the realm of what I normally read. I try to avoid serious issues in novels and use reading as an escape. So glad though that I read the review on this and heard an interview with the author on “Mom’s don’t have time to read books” by Zibby Owens. Not at all what I expected it to be even after the summary from the author. What an engaging story. I did not predict that the plot and characters would arc the way that they did and I was totally there for the ride. I recommend this book to distract you and make you question how you judge others when you look at them.

This book was so…..boring. There was no climax and no character arcs. The ended felt like it wasn’t well thought out at all. The MC just walked away from all of her problems without resolving any of them.
