This book was really interesting and a beautiful coming of age. It deals with lots of heavy, important topics well and you follow and reflect the emotional journey of the protagonist.

I'm aware this kind of book isn't one I'd ever really love, I'm not a huge fan of prose or coming of age, but I still enjoyed this and the importance of these stories being told is undeniable.

I thought that the drag element of this story happened quickly compared to how the rest was paced, but it doesn't change that this is a beautiful book with beautiful themes.

Such an important book about racial and sexual identity and shows how one can grow and find the place where they belong. I think this will really resonate with people who can identify themselves with Michael, and truly see themselves represented in a book. Personally, I just found some of the sections slow.
