Okiku is the ghost from the famous legend. Because of how she died, she is unable to pass and wanders the mortal realm, saving the spirits of children who suffered the same fate as her, and exacting vengeance upon the killers.
But this changes when she meets Tark, a young boy with intricate tattoos who seems to harbor a hidden malevolence behind him. While Tark is feared by most people, Okiku knows he isn't dangerous but there is a hidden danger in which he needs to be freed of. But the problem is, he might just die in the process.

Let this get out of the way first - the non Japanese names are mildly annoying, yes.I'd expect those kind of names from a more fantastical setting but I digress Everything is just too convenient, yes. The ghost travelling between countries was a stretch and was not given a satisfactory explanation, yes. But was the story still enjoyable? Yes, for me at least.
It's not horror per se. It's more of a creepy setting but I still enjoyed listening to this. I'm a sucker for folklore and ghost stories and I love The Ring, The Grudge, and yokai so of course this was right up my alley.
