A comedic but deeply thought provoking look into the reality of the NHS.

אחד הספרים היחידים שגרמו לי לצחוק באותה מידה שהם גרמו לי לבכות. חד וחשוב

Didn't really remember much about it. But I remember enjoying it. It's a light read and one that I can really correlate (been there, done that). Would recommend it for people who work in the medicine field and just want some easy read, made us visited the memory working as a junior doctor.

While the author is genuinely funny and there are even some laugh out loud moments, for me this book was overshadowed by his flippant attitude towards birth and even women. One comment in particular about older women sticks in my mind. Reading it definitely makes you realise how broken the medical system is.

I was already an Adam May fan, and had seen his Edinburgh show previewing this, so knew what to expect. I laughed, I cried, I was horrified.

I also have a new and unrelenting respect for junior doctors. I kind of thought they didn't get paid much, and I was vaguely aware they work pretty hard, but it's not been spelled out this clearly to me before.

Really really really good! I feel like I am having a great streak of amazing books lately. This really reminded me of myself and my stressful days of retail pharmacy and all my journal entries (maybe someday I can write a book too). Took an uncomfortable, dark turn there at the end. I feel so so bad for him that his career had to end that way. At first I kinda wished that part would have been left out, but it was good to have that aspect of real life.
