Por dónde empezar, lo bueno se lee rápido y los personas caen bien.
Lo malo este insta love, no se lo cree nadie, a los 2 días de conocerse ya se convierten cada uno en la vida entera del otro, es ridículo y cursi.

Tristan is such a cinnamon roll. He has had a tough time relationship wise. He’s such a fantastic friend with such a big heart.
Alex has been hiding for years. He was in the military and as amazing as he was, he had to hide part of himself. His grandma wanted him to come home and settle so he has.
When the two of them collide it’s full of fire. Both have places in their hearts that have major damage.
I loved the two of them together. Learning how to navigate their new relationship and be willing to grow together.
This is such an easy, good story. I look forward to reading more about this group of friends.

This is my first Melissa Foster novel so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It definitely can be read as a standalone although the characters from other books are in this one as well. I was fully expecting this book to rip my heart out as Alex heals from all his wounds and while these guys do have some work to help Alex heal, it wasn’t as painful as I anticipated.

I am not a fan of insta-love and although other reviewers felt this book was even faster than that, it didn’t bother me in this book. I think these two already knew enough about each other the instant feelings were based on that and bolstered by their shared connection to Alex’s grandmother. Their sexual chemistry was off the charts. They each clearly needed the other to heal. They were really great together. I loved that the angst between them was short lived and quickly resolved. I don’t like the angst built on miscommunication or a lack of communication which could have easily happened here.

The writing is good as is the supporting cast. This book is not earth shattering but is full of emotions. If you need a quick read that is heavy on the sappy romance, this is a great book for that.

An enjoyable story that drew me in from the start and kept me hooked. The two main characters Tristan and Alex were extremely likable, flawed and at points pretty beaten down but completely believable and I couldn't help rooting for them to get their hea.

As for the story it was full of emotion, angst and again it felt very believable. I really felt Alex's struggle to be himself, overcome his injuries and shake off 8 years of Army life as well as his grief in losing his grandma and I loved how Tristan no matter his doubts never gave up on Alex and faced every obstacle head on.

Overall though it was a great read and one I would happily recommend to others, and you certainly don't need to have read the previous books in this series to enjoy this one.
