I went on a huge Anais Nin kick after seeing the movie adaptation of Henry and June. I really enjoyed this.

A brutally frank excerpt from her diary.

Very interesting, sensual and at times exciting; at other times dull, common and rambling. I'm quite glad I looked to Ayn Rand heroes in my youth for encouragement that great things were possible. If I'd looked only to Anais I might have come away with the mistaken impression that sleeping around and navel-gazing were the highest achievments a woman could hope for. Pah. Read her, voraciously, do, but with a handful of salt and purely for the fun of it, not for inspiration in life.
