I really liked the stories that focused on Olive, not so much the ones that briefly mentioned her.

This book was pretty good, and a quick read. I had heard about this book from friends and thought I would give it a try. Another thing that intrigued me was the main character Olive, is a teacher. Although she is not someone that I would tag as the "teacherly type".
Each chapter is told from various characters. Some know Olive well, others just are neighbors in her small town.
Olive was a very rough, short tempered and quick with her words. She had a loving husband, but showed very little affection for him. He pointed out to her that she never apologizes when she is wrong. The relationship with her son is strained as well, which continues into adulthood.
I feel in the end Olive might have made a transformation, as she moves on with the next chapter in her life (or I would hope she does).

I have to see it was interesting. Though at the beginning I had been like "Huh?" since it jumped around to everybody each chapter and THEN included Olive. Was also a little confusing at times when the timeline was unclear but still overall good.
