Paris: The Memoir by Paris Hilton

I was not expecting to learn so much about ADHD and IVF.

I really enjoyed this. I've never been a Little Hilton per se but I do have this distant intrigue to this socialite, especially since she came out about her horrific experience in those wilderness camps as a child.

I hadn't realised how much trauma she had been through and found her life that was disclosed in her memoir in her own words to be powerful, engaging and full of growth.

The way she loves her animals and the people in her life was so beautiful to read about, but I'm glad she opened up about the difficulties she had in relationships as it brought her into the perspective of being relatable and empathic. So when she's talking about growth and freedom to live her life, despite her own acknowledgement of her privallages, it's stated with a strong sense of relief and happiness.

I thought this was a fantastic insight into Paris' life. I really enjoyed reading this and finished it (mainly via audiobook, where she narrates it herself) over a day and a bit.

I definitely think I wouldn’t have enjoyed the book as much if I eyeball read this book.  Paris added so much emotion to the audiobook so that, even during the dark parts, I could keep going.

I remember growing up at the same time as Paris.  She’s only a few years older than me and I definitely othered her.  I am so sorry because this woman has gone through so much, money or not.

This book is such a beautiful look at ptsd, finding joy, and living with ADHD.

I wouldn’t say this book was bad but it definitely wasn’t good. One major issue I had was the book just didn’t flow well. Paris does give her reasoning behind this early on in the book but I think this is something that could have been easily corrected by an editor. It really took a lot away from my enjoyment of the book. However, I did feel like I learned a lot about Paris’ life which was the main point of the book. I didn’t know much about her coming into this book and she did a good job of showcasing her life experiences and connecting them to her current day self. I do think her story offers her personal perspective and experience with a tragedy that I didn’t know much about before hand. Paris does try to offer some words of wisdom but it comes off rather forced.
